Connecting minority families to the schools and the community.

Our Staff

At the Welcome Center we currently have three staff members.  Each one specializing in his/her field.

Jennifer Hansen - Jenninfer has been with the Welcome Center since the start of the Welcome Center.  She is also the ECFE coordinator.  She wishes for more snow days so that she can get things done.

Mai Lor - Mai is the Hmong / English repersentative in the office.  She has been working with the Welcome Center for two years now.  Her favorite thing to eat is pho.  Pho is a traditional Hmong noodle soup dish.

Azalea Meza -Azalea is our newest member who just joined the team.  Her preference in movie genera is horror/suspense and every once in a while comedy.

Our Programs

There are several programs that the Welcome Center offers.  Some programs are offer through the Marshall community and others are offered through the Marshall Public Schools.  Below you will find the current program that are being offered through the Welcome Center.

The Family Support Group - The Family Support Group works with the Minority Advocate Program and its Mission is: "To provide a resource to empower families to have a sucessful school experience."  This is a program offer to the Marshall community.
 
Grupo de apoyo a la familia- Quiere usted estar involucrado en las actividades el Grupo de Apoyo a las Familia, oayudar a nuevas familias en las escuelas de Marshall?  Las Mision del Grupo de Apoyo a las Familia es: "Proveer un recurso que fortalezca a familias para tener una experiencia con exito en las escuela."

Careers and Culture Exploration Club - The Careers and Culture Exploration Club is an after school program currently being offered to 5th -8th graders.  It is held after school, every monday from 4:00 to 5:00pm.

Food-U-Nation (FUN) - FUN is a once a week, six week program that particpants will have the opportunity to learn some basics of the culture's language, history and people.  Participant will also get the chance to experience the culture through food.  Nothing brings people together faster then food.
